| A long time ago, before there was TV...
There were stories and songs about every topic under the sun. Each one a magic carpet flight into a world of fantasy, creativity and learning. From foreign languages to cosmology, I've got stories that put a new edge on curiosity and songs to fan the flames of fun. Give me a general topic, I'll give you a program of stories, chants, rhythm games, ballads and songs in a concert format designed for fun and participation. Or let me select a program for you. Either way you get 45-60 minutes of stories and songs that enchant, instruct and entertain. Adaptable for all ages.

Staff and students had only good things to say about their experiences with Kevin.
The combination of Kevin’s personal style and command of music and story make for a relaxed but dynamic program.
I recommend him without reservation.

The Musical Body
A foot flapping, hand clapping, knee slapping presentation of music made by hand, mouth, stomach, and just about every other part of the anatomy you can think of. Anybody with a body will enjoy exploring the many ways people use their bodies, head to toes, to make musical sounds. We'll use those sounds to accompany songs and stories, and take some time to make up some rhythms of our own. K-6.

Legends in Our Own Time
Song writing can be a powerful educational tool. Pick a subject: recycling; the history of ancient Egypt; the rules for conjugating French verbs; you name it. As we explore and deepen our understanding of the selected topic we'll begin working on rhyming, prosody (the rhythm of language), music theory and expanding vocabulary to construct the verses and melody of a song. In the process we'll be using cooperative and creative problem solving skills, well known tricks of the trade for writers, memorization techniques and, when we add the melody, music notation. Adaptable for all ages.
Length: 60-90 min.
Class size: up to 25
Technical requirements:
A blackboard
A piano (optional)
Access to a copy machine |

Making a Living Making Music Want to know what it's really like? Whether students are planning careers in the symphony, in a bar band or as a solo performer, they will need skills and education that go way beyond the practice room. In a fifty minute presentation and with plenty of personal anecdotes to back up my advice, I talk about being a professional musician, including the career options, the education, and the financial rewards. I'll also cover the things that nobody ever talks about: life on the road, learning about contracts, designing promo, working with agents and other musicians, producing a recording, grinding out promo, and keeping up with new technology. High School.
